Eligibility[edit]
- You must be a currently enrolled high-school student (grade 9, 10, 11, or 12) at a bona-fide high school
- You must have a school email address provided by your school using the same domain as your high school
- We must be able to verify both your email address and the web site of your high school
- Entering this contest constitutes agreement to having your name and essay published on Coder Merlin™ 's website. Coder Merlin™ reserves the right to make minor edits to essays before publication on our website.
Prizes[edit]
- The prize for first place is $250.00 (two hundred and fifty USD)
- Prizes will be paid via so you must have a PayPal account

- Verify your email address
Specific Contest Rules[edit]
- Write an article which addresses the assertion "The Primary Role of Technology is to Improve Humanity"
- Include at least three (each) of pros and cons related to the pervasiveness of technology and its impact on humanity
- The article must be between 2,000 and 3,000 words in English
- It must include at least five references to online resources. Be sure to include each reference in a bibliography.
- You must submit your essay in a PDF by emailing to contests@codermerlin.com. All wiki rules apply.
- You must include at the very top of your essay:
- Your full name
- Your verified email address
- Your shell account name (which you will receive by email after applying for a shell account)
- Your entry must be received prior to midnight EST, 22-January-2021.
- Finalists will be required to create a wiki User page which contains:
- Full name OR first name and last initial
- Color picture OR school-appropriate avatar (Avatar Maker)
- School name and location
- Referring teacher(s) name(s) (if applicable)
- At least one paragraph about yourself
